Comparison of O3 and No2 Profiles from Gomos and Finrose-ctm Simulation
نویسنده
چکیده
Ozone and nitrogen dioxide profiles from the FinROSE chemistry transport model (FinROSE-ctm) are compared with observations from the GOMOS stellar occultation instrument on board the Envisat satellite. Data from 2004 is shown. The focus in the comparison is on polar night middle atmosphere. Also vortex averages are shown.

Cross comparisons of O3 and NO2 measured by the atmospheric ENVISAT instruments GOMOS, MIPAS, and SCIAMACHY
Vertical profiles of O3 and NO2 abundances from the atmospheric instruments GOMOS (Global Ozone Monitoring by the Occultation of Stars), MIPAS (Michelson Interferometer for Passive Atmospheric Sounding) and SCIAMACHY (Scanning Imaging Spectrometer for Atmospheric Chartography) all on-board the recently launched European Space Agency (ESA) Environmental Satellite (ENVISAT) are intercompared. The...
متن کاملValidation of Gomos Products Using Salomon Algorithms and Data
The UV-visible spectrometer SALOMON, dedicated to the retrieval of vertical profiles of O3, NO2 and NO3, has performed measurements on 19 September 2002, from Aire sur l’Adour (France) between 20h00 and 22h30 TU. At the same time, an ozone sounding has been launched. GOMOS has performed measurements at 21h24 UT, with a spatial coincidence with SALOMON and the sounding of around 250 km. Then, al...

SP-531 Envisat Validation Workshop
In order to assess the level-2 data retrieval accuracy of selected trace gases (O3, NO2, H2O) from SCIAMACHY and MIPAS, which are part of the atmospheric instrumentation on the recently launched ENVISAT satellite, operational and some scientific products are validated by comparison with other space borne instruments (GOME, HALOE, SAGE II, POAM III). First results of these satellite intercompari...
متن کاملAre the TRACE-P measurements representative of the western Pacific during March 2001?
[1] Observations of CO and O3 from the Transport and Chemical Evolution over the Pacific (TRACE-P) campaign are compared with modeled distributions from the FRSGC/ UCI CTM driven by the Oslo T63L40 ECMWF forecast meteorology. The modelmeasurement comparison is made within the context of how well the TRACE-P observations represent the springtime chemistry and ozone distributions over eastern Asi...
